Cinnamon is a warming spice with sweet, pungent and bitter flavours, making it both fragrant and nourishing.

It contains lots of protective antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and immunity boosting. It has also been found to lower blood pressure and has anti-viral, antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is excellent for improving digestion, and its prebiotic properties have been linked to improving gut health and cinnamon is also a useful source of manganese and contains small amounts of calcium and fibre.
